Positioned beautifully, stretching along the Andaman Sea, Phuket provides the perfect choice for yacht charters in Thailand. There is a fabulous expanse of maritime territory streching along the coast, for those passionate about sailing and motor charters. And the area promises to offer some of the most beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters, hidden creeks, secluded bays and coral reefs, all batheing in this fabulous tripical climate...a true paradise for cruises with both family and friends.
Phuket also offers a superb range of different boats, from each of its 4 main marinas: Ao Po Grand Marina, Phuket Lagoon, Royal Phuket Marina and Yacht Haven Marina. An embarcation from any of these marinas will allow you to explore the magnificent islands and the bay of Phang Nga, famous for its spectacular mountain peaks which rise from the calm depths of the vibrant turquoise waters. The well known islands of Phi Phi and Lanta are inevitable 'must sees' as well as Krabi and Racha, and then a little further on, the Similans Islands, the National Marine Park of Tarutao, and even the Mergui Archipelago of Myanmar. The Similan islands are located just 60NM to the north west of Phuket itself and the scuba diving there is ranked in the top 10 of diving destinations in the world.
Phuket benefits from the ideal climate and conditions pretty much all year round, with up to 2-3 metres of swell. From November to April the dry monsoon season brings a regular breeze from the north west, of between 5 and 20 knots, and a generally calm sea and sunny climate. Whilst May to October the wet monsoon brings some tropical rain and a stronger south westerly wind, which can be slightly more troublesome for sailing.
Phuket is an ideal base for a yacht charter in Thailand. Its airport offers direct connections to many international destinations. Although Phuket is a haven of activity, isolated beaches and wildlife are never more than a short sail away.
