The Dodecanese is made up of twelve main islands: Rhodes, Kos, Samos, Astypalia, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kasos, Leros, Nysiros, Patmos, Symi and Tilos. Then Halki and the islets of Lipsi, Pserimos, Agathonisi, Sari, Kastellorizo, Levitha, Giali, and Kinaros along with other small islets, barren islets and rock peaks, form the remainder of this truly abundant group of islands. The yacht charter from Kos, Samos or Rhodes is the more classic. The Dodecanese archipelago is believed by many to be the best zone in which to explore 'real Greece'. Not only are there fantastic islands and cities to discover during your yacht charter but also countless fabulous beaches to enjoy. The Dodecanese islands are for the most part bare of vegetation, although not to such an extent as the Cyclades. Several of the islands with abundant natural springs, notably Kos and Rhodes, are relatively green and wooded. Turkey is easily reachable with a yacht charter from Kos, Samos or Rhodes.
