Miami and the Florida Keys Between Miami and the Dry Tortugas, you will find some of the finest sailing waters on the Atlantique coast. They are America's Out Islands, with the only coral reef in North America. The warmth of the Gulf Stream and the tradewinds give them a tropical climate. The Barrier Reef is now clearly marked for yacht charter. You'll get plenty of cruising variety between the clear coral reef barrier and the Florida Bay area. The generally pleasant weather and the beauty of the waters around the Keys make boating in this area a relaxing experience. You can anchor by yourself or dock and enjoy an exciting nightlife in Miami Beach or Key West. The remote and untamed Dry Tortugas and the Keys are full of dolphins and assorted wildlife.
The Keys' temperatures are moderated by the waters of the Gulf Stream. Average temperatures range from 80 to 90 °F (27 to 32C°) in the summer and from 70 to 80 °F (21 to 27C°) in the winter.
