Tivat is a coastal town in the south west of Montenegro, situated in Kotor Bay. Tivat was always a popular tourist town, but most recently, with the development of 'Porto Montenegro' it has become the hub of nautical activity in the region, and indeed the nautical centre of the entire southern Adriatic, and its no. 1 pleasure port. The marina can accommodate more than 400 boats, including berths for 150 yachts at over 150m. This marina also offers a vast range of services and facilities, luxury apartments, boutiques, restaurants and 24/7 assistance, as well as an array of sports activities including an indoor tennis arena and an 18 hole golf course.

The old town of Kotor is also a well known tourist attraction. Surrounded by its 4km long ancient high wall, which has been well preserved and indeed is now listed among the UNESCO world heritage sites. The wall lies on the flanks of the mountain at the entrance to Kotor, and the entire region has benefitted from the  Venice protectorat, for the last 4 centuries, and this in turn, has shaped the structure and alot of the architechture of the town. In recent years, the number of tourists visiting Kotor has increased considerably, and many are increasingly drawn to this charming town and its attractions.
