Having graduated from the French Merchant Navy, Emmanuel created, together with his business partner Daniel Doppler, the first website on the market related to chartering business for crewed and bareboat yachts in the Caribbean. Emmanuel is in charge of the Caribbean area for the charter business, as well as the development of brokerage and yacht management activities.
Co-founded Windward Islands in 1999 with Emmanuel Pertuisot. After gaining an MBA from Strasbourg University, and a spell as a trader on the Paris Stock Exchange he created and ran an adverstising, events and internet company for 9 years. In 2000 he sold his company to focus on Windward Islands. Daniel is now in charge of business and partnership development worldwide and also guest lecturer at the Pamplin College of Business, VirginiaTech.
A sailor since birth, at 19 Geoffroy set sail on a voyage across the Atlantic and around South America. He has a passion for the sea, the wind and travelling. For 8 years Barcelona has been his home port and it is from here that he represents Windward Islands Spain. He also organises nautical events, including "Rumbo a Barcelona", a major event for the fourth IUCN World Conservation Congress, bringing together ships, from all over the world, engaged in the protection of the marine environment. He speaks French, English, Spanish and Catalan.
After having worked in top management at various companies in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and the US, in 2005 started his own business related to consulting and trading of commodities. After selling his sweetener business he concentrated in developing Windward Islands in Latin America.. Having studied at University of Pennsylvania Wharton, and having a Post Graduate degree in IAE he is an avid traveller thus conveying his experience into the business.
Opened the Windward Islands UK office in January 2004. A French national who lived in London for 13 years, Catherine has lived and travelled extensively on all five continents and speaks French, English and Portuguese. With a Political Science degree from Institut d''Etudes Politiques in Paris, plus work experience in investment banking, executive search, and travel consultancy, Catherine''s varied background brings considerable expertise to her current role in advising Windward Islands'' clients on all aspects of their yacht charter.
Giorgia studied economics and business communication at The University of Palermo before setting out on a career in business consulting and strategic development which has taken her into the fields of publishing, finance, tourism and hospitality, luxury goods and wellness. In the yachting industry she has collaborated with Aicon Yachts and contributed to the creation and transformation of Aironblue Yachting Escape, part of the Aicon Yachts group for which she was the CEO and managed the largest European motor fleet of luxury yachts. She brings almost ten years of yachting experience to Windward Islands and speaks Italian, English and French.
Holds a degree in languages and international business and has lived in Germany for 15 years. She has worked in different domains, including the tourism industry, and joined the Windward Islands team in 2005. She speaks French, German, English and Spanish.
Coming from a Maritime family where his father, uncle and grandfather even built their own 30 foot catamaran, it was inevitable that he would work within the yachting industry.
Originally from Scotland, Barry brings with him over 12 years experience within Cruise, Travel & Tourism in both sales and management. He also graduated at Paisley University, Scotland with a Bachelor of Science degree and speaks both English and French.
A BA Hons Graduate in modern languages from Exeter University, she joined Windward Islands in 2006 to strengthen the UK operation. With over 15 years'' experience in sales, marketing, advertising, PR, research, design, and events management, Simone is now thoroughly enjoying the client liaison and international scope of her role.
Sherri Thoma Troutman
Growing up on the east coast of the USA, Sherri enjoyed sailing off of Long Island (Fire Island), motor yachting in Cape May, NJ and waterskiing wherever there was water and a ski nautique. After graduating from Gettysburg College, Sherri and her family moved to several countries in Europe where she worked in the pharmaceutical/medical field. Today she enjoys sailing in the Chesapeake and Caribbean as often as possible. Sherri is a charter broker, CYBA member and manages the Windward Islands yacht fleet globally.
