WindQuest, delivered at the end of May 2014 by JFA Yachts, is the first 85’ Long Island cruising catamaran.
This beautiful boat, by naval architect Marc Lombard of both racing and cruising fame, has aluminium hulls and has been assembled by bonding in order to optimize weight resulting in a high performance sailing vessel.
WindQuest is one of a kind, measuring 26.25m long and 11.93m wide, with a draft of 2.24m. Two 380 hp engines and two generators of 27 kilowatts, give her a top speed of 12.9 knots.
The hallmark of this outstanding catamaran is without doubt her master cabin stretching across the entire width of the roof. This exceptionally large suite offers a superb panoramic view of 180°, never before seen on a sailing or even on a motor yacht of this size. A few steps give access to a private terrace.
The Long Island 85 offers more space and comfort than other yachts of her size. In addition to the master cabin, Windquest has 2 guest staterooms, and the owner’s office can convert when needed. In order to offer variety and meet the individual layout demands of differing owners the Long Island 85 is available in 3 versions: 3 guest cabins and 1 office (like Windquest), 4 guest cabins, and five guest cabins.
Besides the interior saloon which offers 360° views, Windquest features seating, dining, sunbathing and lounging areas on the aft deck and an amazing alfresco space forward. She is well-equipped with toys including stand-up paddleboards, wakeboards, snorkelling equipment and a trampoline. She also has a garage for bicycles and carries a 16-foot tender.
The striking WindQuest has recently completed her maiden voyage in southern Brittany, and this summer will sail along the English Channel and down into the Atlantic travelling from London to Lisbon before heading to the Caribbean this winter.
The luxury yacht WindQuest is ready for charter in the West Mediterranean this summer with Windward Islands.
