Because there’s nothing better than lying on the sand for a full tan and feeling in your element, there are some great beaches across the Mediterranean that can cater for nudist needs.

1. Plage de Tahiti – Saint-Tropez, France :

As nudist culture became increasingly important in the 1960s, many travellers turned to Saint Tropez, in France and its famous Tahiti Beach. Just a few minutes from the city centre, the beach is attracting more and more naturists to the white shores. It is famous for the magnificent views it offers of the surrounding area, so popular on the French Riviera.


2. Plage Linguizzetta – Corsica, France :

Hidden in a small cove between Pelekas and Glyfada, the beach is divided into three parts. The naturists tend to stay on the left or the right, which allows the dressed swimmers to enjoy the middle section in peace and quiet.


8. Acquarilli Beach – Tuscany, Italy :

Not especially known for its naturist beaches, Italy is nevertheless full of superb spots.

The beach dell’Acquarilli is the first beach on the island of Elba to have been reserved for naturism. An authentic beach, it is known for its small pebbles, most of which are black, and its particularly impressive cliff. Since this one, the spectacular life on the seabed is worth the detour.


9. Valalta Rovinj, Croatia :
